Sergeant Spook!

October is known for one big holiday: Halloween! It's the night kids get dressed-up in costumes, run up-and-down the street, and grab all the candy they can jam into a bed sheet or plastic bucket. It's also when television channels show "Halloween Specials", usually old horror movies or that Peanuts special where Linus sits in a pumpkin patch. In keeping with the theme of the month, I'm posting Sergeant Spook's tale from "Blue Bolt Comics volume 3 number 12", cover date May 1943. Sergeant Spook appeared in Blue Bolt Comics from volume 1 issue 1 through volume 10 issue 1 (June 1940-July/August 1949), missing an issue here and there. He also appeared in "Dick Cole # 1" (December 1948). According to the Grand Comic-Book Database, his stories were reprinted in "Spook 22, 23, 26 & 27" and "Eerie Tales # 10".
